Manipur (kangleipak)
Manipur is a princely state in the northeast region of India .It is also called as kangleipak . It has conquered southern part of china , Myanmar .It was an independent kingdom and had never been under colonization of any country or kingdom until 1891 when the meitei army were defeated by the British at Khongjom (Khongjom war) .It is the land of jewel and a sports house of the country.It is famous for its diverse culture and unique flora and fauna . Manipur is surrounded by mountains as it is in the Himalayan range.Manipur is borders by Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram to the East,North, west respectively.It is also bordered with Myanmar (Burma) to the southeast.

It is a native place to different tribes ,the. meitei,chiru,anal,aimol,kom,maring,kabui,
tangkhul,rongmei,liangmei,any many other indigenous tribes .They had settled here for thousand of years . And The people of Manipur speak tibeto-burma language like the rest of the northeast states .Most of the tribes follow Christianity religion but except the meitei people follow sanamahism as they refused to convert to Christianity.

Manipur is a place with very unique cuisine and dishes .And Its also home to the Sangai Deer which is only found in the Keibul Lamjao National Park and not anywhere else .The Sangai Deer is also the state animal of the state.The Nongin bird , Pengba ,Uningthou ,Shirui Lily are the state bird,state fish ,state tree, ,state flower respectively of Manipur. The Shirui Lily is found only in the ukhrul district of Manipur which is a tangkhul dominated area .

The famous polo game (Sagol Kangjei) originated from Manipur (Kangleipak) and it was later introduced to the world by the British as modern polo.The oldest polo ground in history is also in Manipur.
